UFC Mexico featured several fan favorites in high-stakes matches. The main event of the night was a title eliminator match between Brandon Moreno vs Brandon Royval.
This was the UFC’s first appearance in Mexico since 2019— where Yair Rodriguez’s clash with Jeremy Stephens ended in just 15 seconds due to an accidental eye poke. Both UFC Mexico events featured Rodriguez and Moreno.
The prelims saw some incredible submissions and some controversial decisions, but it was the first fight that night that really got people talking.
Preliminaries
Muhammad Naimov vs. Erik Silva
Muhammad Naimov was a big favorite when he entered the bout, and it only took him 44 seconds to win, though in an odd way.
Hillman’s pressure on Erik Silva to the cage was enough for him to knock the Venezuelan out of balance. Silva stepped awkwardly back and tore off his MCL. Naimov was able to take full advantage.
