UFC CEO Dana White revealed the winners of UFC 298 bonuses at Saturday’s press conference held at the Honda Center, Anaheim, Calif.
Ilia topuria, Amanda Lemos, Mackenzie Dern, Anthony Hernandez, and Zhang Mingyang all received bonuses of $50,00.
The women’s flyweight fight between Amanda Lemos vs. Mackenzie Dern was awarded Fight of the Night. Dern was incredibly damaged in this back-and-forth bout. Lemos was unanimously voted the winner.
Topuria received a bonus after his knockout victory over Alexander Volkanovski in the main event to win UFC featherweight champion. Topuria backed Volkanovski with a left-hand in the second. Volkanovski was knocked down by a right hand that followed. Topuria increased his undefeated records to 15-0.
Anthony Hernandez, who is a middleweight fighter, received a bonus when he submitted Roman Kopylov during the second round. Hernandez took down Kopylov in the second round after absorbing some of the shots from the opening frame. He grabbed Kopylov by the back and applied a rear-naked choking that made Russian tap out.
