A press release states that the PFL Europe show in Newcastle on 8th June is an absolute banger. Savannah Marshall will headline the event, making her professional MMA debut after signing with the promotion last summer. We now know that her opponent in Newcastle will be Brazil’s Mirela Vargas, who will also be making her PFL debut. Vargas has never played in a second-round match in her career. The 26-year old Brazilian has two losses and has finished the first round within 12 seconds. Despite this, Vargas has lost both matches to the exact same girl.
This event will also be the start of the PFL Europe Season 2024, which offers participants the chance to earn $100,000. Newcastle will see the beginning of the bantamweights and women’s flyweight tournaments.
If that wasn’t enough, there are also a handful of showcase fights taking place in the north of England.
