Most Valuable Promotions Releases Statement on Serrano Vs. Meinke Fight Cancellation

The Most Valuable Promotions’ boxing event on Saturday in San Juan, Puerto Rico featured a fight for the featherweight title between Amanda Serrano (the undisputed world champion) and Nina Meinke.  The fight was called off just moments before the two women were to walk into the ring.  

MVP released a press release explaining that Serrano had not been cleared medically due to an injury sustained on Friday.  

The press release stated that “Amanda Serrano was declared medically unfit to fight tonight by the Puerto Rican Boxing Commission due to the eye injury she suffered yesterday.”  

The statement read: “She’s devastated that she won’t be able dance in front of the people in her hometown, but she wants to do it, and yet the Commission says she cannot fight in her current condition.”  

Fans will get a refund for attending and will also receive their purses.
