Former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will be fighting Benoit Saint-Denis in the UFC 299 co-main event on March 9 after all.

Poirier’s social media post on Thursday that he was not fighting Saint-Denis at the UFC 299 main event because he couldn’t agree on terms caused a frenzy.

“My fights off but still working,” Poirier posted on X and he later told Ariel Helwani, ““There was no contractual agreement before the fight was announced and we couldn’t come to terms.”

After speaking with his manager on Thursday afternoon, Poirier changed his mind and confirmed that the Saint Denis fight was still going to take place at UFC 299.

“Sorry, people, I jumped to conclusions, I couldn’t reach my manager in a few days. Hunter and I were just talking. I misunderstood. The fight is on! See you in March!
