Dricus Plessis claims Sean Strickland confessed to him that he was the superior man at UFC 299. Du Plessis crowned Strickland middleweight champion last week by split decision. Toronto saw a very close fight, but a new middleweight champion emerged at the end.

Strickland, while praising Du Plessis’ performance in the postfight press conference, also revealed that an illegal blow to the head during the fight had damaged his eyesight. Du Plessis, speaking on SuperSport Unplugged, explained that, despite a heated debate in the MMA community about the decision, Strickland admitted he was defeated even before the scorecards had been read.
