Dana White: Conor McGregor to return 'sometime this fall'


When will former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor return to the octagon?  It’s been three years since his last fight.

The 35-year old suffered a broken leg in his last outing against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.  He’s expected to face Michael Chandler when he returns.  The two worked together as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31, last year.  While there’s no definitely date for “Notorious” to fight again, UFC President Dana White gave a timeframe on Wednesday.  

“Conor will be fighting this year.”  White stated: “I’m thinking fall. The Jim Rome Show.  “He will not be at (UFC)300.” 

White spoke the same words during his appearances on Wednesday. The Pat McAfee show.  “Eventually. “Hopefully this year. No date has been set. I’m hoping for the fall,” said White.  

McGregor’s return to the octagon is expected do make astronomical numbers. But we are a long way from his days as a champion.  The Irishman is without a title in eight years.  He has also lost three out of his four last fights.    

Chandler’s last fight was in November 2022 when he lost to Poirier by submission.  He will wait until McGregor fights to see what happens.  He, too, has…
